Major operations of international diplomacy are also staged media events. As a hub for audiovisual culture, PalaCinema Locarno places particular emphasis on the role of such media representations, through an installation featuring ten video stations showcasing footage from archives of audiovisual heritage. This critical perspective invites reflection on how peace processes are communicated to the public: what narrative do the media construct, and to what end? What role do storytelling and imagery play in shaping democratic societies?

The project includes an interdisciplinary conference that incorporates mediation activities focused on how to convey peacebuilding research findings to future generations. An installation of aggregative structures within the exhibition spaces, created by Swiss artist Yves Mettler, forms an integral part of the project.
