Major operations of international diplomacy are also media staging. As a hub of audiovisual culture, PalaCinema Locarno brings special attention to the role of these media image enactments with an installation featuring ten video stations with footage from archives of audiovisual heritage. Their critical gaze opens reflection to the construction of audiovisual narrative of strategies of public communication of peace processes: what narrative is suggested by the media and with what intent? What is the role of narrative and image in democratic society?

The project includes an interdisciplinary conference that incorporates mediation activities focused on how to convey peacebuilding research findings to future generations. An installation of aggregative structures within the exhibition spaces, created by Swiss artist Yves Mettler, forms an integral part of the project.
