LOCARNO RESONATES FOR PEACE - This is the motto of the 2025 Peace Concert Trilogy, which commemorates the centenary of the Locarno Treaties (1925). The solemn beginning will be marked by the Mass-concert in the context of the traditional novena to Our Lady of the Rock.

On Sunday, September 7, 2025, at 5 p.m., the Convent of Madonna del Sasso, the City of Locarno and the Musica al Cuore Association invite you to an extraordinary musical event: the sumptuous Coronation Mass (KV 317) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart will resound as a solemn mass at the famous Marian shrine in Orselina.

The Holy Mass will be celebrated by Capuchin friars and accompanied musically by two artistic excellencies: the Cantemus Vocal Ensemble (choir of approx. 35 voices) and the Camerata dei Castelli Orchestra (approx. 20 musicians). It will be conducted by Liga Liedskalnina, a Latvian conductor known for her artistic sensitivity and spiritual depth. Soloists YueYan Xie (soprano), Candice Carmalt (alto), Nuno Santos (tenor) and Marco Redaelli (bass) will perform.

The Coronation Mass is among Mozart's most impressive sacred works: solemn trumpets, luminous harmonies, triumphant choruses and poignant solos come together in a celebration full of splendor, faith and hope.
